Dress code for golf course and clubhouse

IN GENERAL

The Dress Code is intended to preserve and protect the outstanding reputation of Bernardo Heights Country Club, consistent with its rich heritage, and to reflect the dignity and decorum of its membership. It shall be binding upon all members, their families and guests upon the premises of the Club.

ATTIRE DEFINITIONS

Golf Attire:

Men: Slacks or Bermuda shorts no shorter than four inches above the center of the knee or no longer than 18 inches in length, together with a collared shirt, turtleneck or mock turtle shirt. Plus Fours (knickers) are also permitted.

Women: Tailored slacks (including Capri length pants), skirts or shorts of appropriate length based on LPGA Standards, together with a collared or crew shirt, with or without sleeves, turtleneck or mock turtle shirt

Men & Women:  Shirts shall be worn tucked in unless otherwise specifically designed.  T-shirts, tank tops, warm-up suits, camouflage apparel, flip-flops and bathing suits are prohibited. Rain pants are permitted only in inclement weather. Caps must be worn bill-forward. Shoes shall be changed in the locker rooms and not in the parking lot. All guests shall check in at the Pro Shop before going to the practice areas or golf course.

Clubhouse Attire: Casual attire meeting the standard for Golf Attire, is permitted at all times unless, for a special event, other attire is specified. Dress Denim may be worn in all areas.

DINING ROOM:  

Men: Slacks or dress denim together with a collared shirt, turtleneck or After 5:00pm mock turtle shirt worn tucked in unless otherwise specifically designed. Men shall not wear hats while seated in the Elevated Dining area unless necessary for medical reasons.

Women: Skirt or pants with jacket, dress, suit, or coordinated ensemble.

PRO SHOP, PRACTICE FACILITIES, AND GOLF COURSE:

Golf attire only.

Children: Children are expected to adhere to this Dress Code, however, some reasonable latitude may be afforded children under 12 years of age, when appropriate. Such latitude should be requested upon arrival at the Club facilities.

ENFORCEMENT

Management is ultimately responsible for the enforcement of the Dress code and may enact such

Procedures and penalties as it deems appropriate to ensure compliance. 

CELL PHONE POLICY

Cell phones are restricted from verbal use in all dining areas, on the driving range and practice facilities.

Non-verbal cell phone use is allowed in these areas (texting, email & checking voicemail).
